I charge roughly $12-13 dollars per hour, keeping time, cost of materials, and degree of difficulty in mind. An 8 x 10 portrait would start at about $70, not including mat/frame. That price would go up if the size were larger, or if the project had a higher level of difficulty. (Full-body portraits, for instance, are more challenging than head shots. Having more than one person or animal in a drawing/painting also increases the difficulty.)
If you have a specific price range in mind, we can always agree upon a price or a price range beforehand.
I am able to mat pieces for an additional fee.
I can create portraits of people as well as of pets, in either a realistic or an illustration style. Most of my realistic portraits thus far have been drawn in colored pencil, or possibly in graphite pencil, but I am open to using other media. I usually work off of photos for my portraits, but I can use a mixture of photo reference and live reference, or work entirely from life. (You can see some examples of my portraits drawn or painted from life here. These were created in a college portrait class, in a limited time range.)
I am also able to produce other subjects and styles for commissions, including drawings or paintings of buildings, landscapes, or fantasy illustrations.
